Screamin' Kids suggests that you explore these websites prior to encountering a situation where a child is missing or lost. From these sites and others you may discover, we suggest you making an emergency plan for yourself and your family as discussed in the "When Your Child is Missing" handbook found in the first link listed below from the US Department of Justice and linked through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Emotions and confusion run high during these emergency situations and it is no time to try and put together your plan. Your plans should already be in place. May the sites listed here assist you in putting together your emergency plan. (Disclaimer)
Who to contact if your child is missing
If you think your child has been abducted call 911 imediately. There is no waiting period before a report can be made and the first 3 hours following the abduction will be the most critical. Most children who are murdered are murdered within the first 3 hours of being abducted.
